Groundbreaking ceremony for Carmen Würth Forum in Künzelsau – Investment for the congress and culture center amounts to EUR 58.5 million

Summary

Künzelsau. Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG continues to invest in its Künzelsau-Gaisbach location. Directly across from the company premises, at the federal road B19, the company celebrated the groundbreaking for a congress and culture center on 2 December 2015. The center will be named after Carmen Würth.

The investment for the Carmen Würth Forum amounts to EUR 58.5 million. The date for the inauguration of the new building has already been announced: 18 July 2017, the day Carmen Würth will celebrate her 80th birthday.

"The culture and congress center will be a place of encounter for the employees of the Group and the region. We are very happy that the center will bear the name of Carmen Würth. Nobody could better describe through their actions alone how important it is to create room for dialogs, enthusiasm and joy. With its elegance and quiet, the building will be integrated in a very special way into the grown landscape," says Bernd Herrmann, Member of the Central Managing Board of the Würth Group.

The congress and culture center will be used mainly for company and cultural events of the Würth Group. In addition, local towns and communities, companies and sports clubs will have the opportunity to rent the forum for their own events.

The surface area of the building will encompass approximately 11,000 square meters. The building is planned to include an event venue large enough for 2,500 seats, as well as a concert hall for 500 visitors. The lobby and the gallery will also provide room for around 500 seats. The square in front of the main entrance will serve as a forum for open-air events such as the Würth Open Air concert, which is held every year.
