Würth finalist at Digital Leader Award 2016

Summary

Künzelsau. Since 2014, more than 3,000 Würth sales representatives have been using tablet computers and the 1PLUS App on a daily basis when visiting their customers. Digital media make the sales pitch more immediate, and allow a greater focus on the customer’s needs. Through the app, Würth invites customers to use 1PLUS together with the sales representatives, thus helping shape the consulting and selling process. On 29 June, Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG received the prestigious Digital Leader Award 2016 in the Spark Collaboration category in Berlin.

Next to Adidas Group and Heidelberger Druck, Würth was one of the finalists from among 90 applicants, and came in third in the end. The Digital Leader Award is presented by COMPUTERWOCHE, CIO-Magazin, ChannelPartner and Dimension Data. It is awarded to companies that engage in digital transformation in an exemplary and forward-thinking fashion.

The award winners in this category revolutionized their companies’ work environment with digital tools, thus setting themselves apart from their competitors. Bernd Herrmann, Member of the Central Managing Board of the Würth Group, personally accepted the award at the award ceremony. “We are delighted to receive this award. Digital media will certainly not replace the human being in the selling process. Yet it helps make communication more meaningful, much faster and more professional. Our 1PLUS App strengthens the interaction between customer and sales representative.”

Thanks to special application worlds, the app does no longer focus on selling individual products, but offers solutions for specific application conditions that include a high number of services. In online mode, orders may already be transmitted during the sales pitch, which significantly shortens delivery times. The app improves consulting services and makes sales talks much more efficient for sales representatives.

Thanks to 1PLUS, Würth has achieved a unique position in the market. Soon it will not only be used by the sales team, but also in telesales and in more than 400 branch offices.
