Berlin-based “Call a Midwife” start-up receives “Unternehmerisches Herz” award

Summary

Künzelsau/Schwäbisch Hall. Berlin start-up “Call a Midwife” was presented the “Unternehmerisches Herz” award at the gala evening on the occasion of the Global Market Leader Summit on 31 January 2018. The “Unternehmerisches Herz” award is an initiative of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG and the German weekly magazine WirtschaftsWoche.

The award winner, “Call a Midwife”, offers a digital platform for pregnant women and young mothers to exchange information with midwives. The start-up convinced the jury with its innovative approach to digitalizing the midwife’s profession and with the founder’s courage and discipline to face the requirements of a radically changing market with the completely new business model of Midwife 2.0. “The founder Sabine Kroh acts in an exemplary way,” Daniel Rettig, editor of WirtschaftsWoche, says. “Instead of complaining about the difficult working conditions of midwives, she had the courage to found a digital midwife service.”

“Our children are our future. Their hearts have to beat for all questions to be answered. Our task is to pave their way, offering opportunities and creating room to turn their ideas and visions of a positive world into reality,” Robert Friedmann, Chairman of the Central Managing Board of the Würth Group, said in his speech.

For the first time, Carmen Würth Forum in Künzelsau-Gaisbach was the venue for the gala evening. The award ceremony was accompanied by a multi-course dinner prepared by the best chefs of the Hohenlohe region, a speech by State Premier of Baden-Württemberg Winfried Kretschmann and musical contributions by Würth Philharmoniker.
