Global fund-raising campaign at Würth

Summary

Within the framework of a worldwide ride-along campaign, Würth customers had the opportunity to purchase a limited special-edition ratchet spanner set. For every special-edition product sold, the Würth Group donates one euro to UNICEF.

For more than 30 years, RW WORKOUT Week has been an integral part of the cooperation between the in-house staff and the field sales force of Würth Group companies. During this ride-along campaign, in-house employees accompany sales representatives on their daily customer visits. This does not only help their cooperation, but also gives both the sales force and the customers the opportunity to suggest improvements and ideas to in-house staff in personal conversations. This year, RW WORKOUT Week was again combined with a fund-raising campaign. During the ride-along campaign, Würth customers could buy limited-edition tool and ratchet spanner sets.

That way, EUR 120,000 were collected in worldwide sales activities. Bettina Würth, Chairwoman of the Advisory Board of the Würth Group, commented on the campaign: “Würth shows commitment. This is part of our corporate culture and it goes beyond our commitment to our business and our customers. We are committed to social responsibility. Therefore, the opportunity to combine our commitment to our business, to our customers and to society in such a fund-raising campaign is a particularly great experience.”

The money collected during the campaign will be donated to UNICEF’s social project “Empowering Girls in Brazil”. This project aims at supporting young women in overcoming negative influences and social conventions that limit their freedom and keep them from taking over managerial functions. Among the initiatives supported by the project are local networks for young women that promote and foster their sense of personal responsibility, their self-esteem and their self-confidence and help them get involved in political decisions, especially in connection with their own rights and their right to education.
