Graduates of University of Louisville celebrate Master's degree

Summary

24 graduates of the University of Louisville in Kentucky (USA) were awarded their Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA). They were awarded their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in a typical American graduation ceremony at Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG in Künzelsau-Gaisbach.

The students had worked towards this moment in a study of 13.5 months. They completed the international program in Germany and the U.S. alongside their job. The study focused above all on responsible management behavior and sustainable management. The renowned U.S. University of Louisville offers the MBA program in cooperation with Akademie Würth Business School. The program is not only open to Würth Group employees, but to all university graduates with at least three years of professional experience after their first degree. This year, the companies Lufthansa, Porsche and Airbus were also represented.

Prof. Harald Unkelbach, Member of the Management of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG, opened the ceremony and extended his congratulations to the graduates. “You gained many experiences and established new contacts during the time of your study. Make the best of it.” Prof. Todd A. Mooradian, Dean of the College of Business of University of Louisville, encouraged the students to nothing less than “save the world”.

Another highlight was the address by Prof. Reinhold Würth, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Würth Group’s Family Trusts. Further interesting speeches followed by Prof. Ralf Dillerup, academic director of the program, and Malte Heinze, successful graduate of the MBA program.

The MBA degree

Globally operating businesses are looking for employees with internationally recognized degrees, experience abroad and excellent English language skills, now more than ever. The MBA program is an ideal platform. The MBA degree is awarded by the College of Business of the University of Louisville. The high-ranking college is fully accredited by the American Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

The strongly application-based lectures and exercises are held in English. In addition to that, the students complete half of the study period in the U.S. They have to draw up a business plan for their thesis. The program does not only improve the students’ language proficiency, but also fosters their intercultural exchange.

The study groups are composed of students of different companies and nationalities and the students have different backgrounds and experiences. They are taught by professors from Germany and the United States and by professionals from the world of business, among them Prof. Reinhold Würth and Prof. Harald Unkelbach.
