New Panoramahotel opens in Waldenburg: Four stars on the “Terrace of Hohenlohe”

Summary

After a construction period of around two years, the new Panoramahotel in Waldenburg opened its doors on 11 September. The four-star Panoramahotel has been a part of Panorama Hotel & Service GmbH, a company of the Würth Group, since 1987. The new hotel will replace the existing hotel, which is located directly next to the new building. Panoramahotel Waldenburg boasts 120 comfortable, elegantly furnished and modern guest rooms and suites with a total of 240 beds. The wellness center features a sauna and a Sanarium as well as fitness facilities with state-of-the-art TechnoGym equipment.

The hotel also offers ten professionally equipped meeting rooms. The banquet and meeting rooms range from 36 m² to 244 m² and can accommodate up to 220 people depending on the room and seating plan. Apart from the restaurant, guests can also treat themselves at the hotel bar The View or, if weather permits, on one of the terraces.

The hotel restaurant can accommodate up to 120 people, always serving freshly prepared regional and international delicacies. Another 34 seats await the guests at the adjacent vinoteque. The hotel’s culinary events are particularly popular, including the Sunday and Holiday Brunch, with childcare services available on selected dates, as well as the candlelight dinner. The hotel bar The View can accommodate an additional 40 guests.

The Würth Panofit Parcours is another highlight: newly laid out at Panoramahotel Waldenburg, the Panofit Parcours is a state-of-the-art exercise trail providing high-quality fitness equipment and selected physical exercises spread along a running trail of 3.5 kilometers. It was designed by Sport- and Physioschule Waldenburg. Additionally, the hotel is the perfect starting point for bike, motorcycle and hiking excursions.

“The old and the new complement each other in the uniqueness of their architectural styles that were predominant at the time of their inception,” Markus Knobel, mayor of Waldenburg, praised the new hotel in his speech, referring to the hotel as “another landmark and characteristic feature on the terrace of Hohenlohe.”

The new building has a total interior space of 36,000 m². Construction works began with the two basement levels, which are partly integrated into the bedrock. The restaurant and meeting rooms are located on the street level. The rooms and suites are located in three separate wings positioned on top of the street level and linked by glass structures.

“The highly motivated and committed team of hotel director Schörner has been looking forward to this new building for a long time. And there is hardly a better location with a better view that would justify the name Panorama more than this one,” said an excited architect Thomas Müller who thanked everyone “who contributed to making this wonderful hotel complex happen in such a difficult construction scenario.”

“The new hotel is a modern four-star hotel that offers a whole range of new possibilities. Panoramahotel Waldenburg is not only characterized by its unequaled view. What is even more important—and there is no doubt about this—are the employees. Their warmth, their reliability and creativity is what makes Panoramahotel the Panoramahotel Waldenburg,” hotel director Dirk-Uwe Schörner praised his co-workers.

Bernd Herrmann, the Member of the Würth Group’s Central Managing Board responsible for the new building, said: “Guests can expect an elegant new hotel building that still has the same friendly and professional staff, the same great cuisine and many modern conference rooms,” Prof. Reinhold Würth, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Würth Group’s Family Trusts, explained in his welcome speech. He hopes that the hotel’s wonderful location with its great view will attract many tourists as well.
