Reinhold Würth receives honorary citizenship of Palermo
Künzelsau/Palermo. Reinhold Würth, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Würth Group’s Family Trusts, was made an honorary citizen of the City of Palermo in Sicily, Italy.
On Wednesday, 12 September 2018, Mayor Leoluca Orlando awarded the city’s highest honor to Reinhold Würth during a ceremony at Teatro Santa Cecilia in Palermo’s historic old town, not far from Cappella Palatina, which could be restored and renovated thanks to Reinhold Würth’s untiring efforts. Being awarded an honorary citizenship is a special distinction, which is granted only on rare occasions. After the official ceremony, the orchestra Würth Philharmoniker gave a concert at Teatro Santa Cecilia in Palermo together with Italian singer Etta Scollo. Prof. Würth had been awarded an honorary doctorate by Università degli Studi di Palermo in 2007.
