Würth - a partner of EuroSkills 2020

Summary

Upon signing the sponsoring agreement in Graz, Würth became the official partner of the international European championship of the trades, EuroSkills, that for the first time will take place in Austria from 16 to 20 September 2020.

Graz/Böheimkirchen/Künzelsau. As official partner of the European championship of the trades, Würth will sponsor the competition with high-quality tools, machines, operations and workshop equipment, workbenches and personal protective equipment. Apart from officially sponsoring the event, individual Würth companies will support their respective national teams. Since 2018 already, Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG has been a member of WorldSkills Germany, the German organization of the championship of the trades. Team Austria can look forward to being supported by Würth Austria. The company has for a number of years now been sponsoring the participants competing in its fields of industry with work materials, helping them to prepare themselves for the competition.

Competitive exhibition of Europe’s biggest talents

The international large-scale event during which Europe’s best young professionals compete against each other in their respective profession every other year will for the first time take place in Austria in 2020. Roughly 650 outstanding young talents from 30 European countries will compete for the title of European champion in ca. 45 different professions in the fields of industry, the trades and services in Graz. The event will be attended by more than 100,000 visitors, watching the participants demonstrate their skills and qualifications under pressure of time. Roughly 1,500 persons in charge and 600 volunteers will support the mega event lasting several days that takes place on 60,000 square meters of event space in and around Messe Congress Graz.

About EuroSkills

EuroSkills is a professional competition taking place every other year. About 600 active participants are involved in the professional competition in the fields of industry, the trades and services. The body responsible for the European championship of the trades is WorldSkills Europe, an association founded in 2007 whose General Secretariat is located in the Netherlands. The objective of WorldSkills Europe is the promotion of professional qualifications, enhancing the status of vocational education in Europe as well as making the general public aware of the fact that highly trained specialists will make the European Union even more competitive. In 2020, the European championship of the trades will take place in Austria for the first time.
