Würth Foundation celebrates music festival of people with a disability
The Würth Foundation celebrated the music festival of people with disabilities for the third time on Sunday, 8 October, under the motto "Together - for each other". Several hundred visitors had followed the invitation to the Alma-Würth-Saal. At the center of the event was the coexistence of people with and without disabilities - with music as a connecting element. The joy of the music, which all the groups radiated on this day, was already present to the audience at the first performance: the audience clapped to the beat of the songs and sang along.
After the opening of the music festival by the group Klangspiel, Norbert Heckmann, Chairman of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG, and Prof. Dr. h. c. mult. Reinhold Würth, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Würth Group’s Family Trusts, welcomed the musicians and the guests. The initiator of the music festival, Carmen Würth, once again made clear how important the inclusion of people with disabilities is: "We just have to imagine what we would miss if we did not have these people in our lives, who show us again and again how important humanity is."
The repertoire of the six music groups included a broad spectrum: from Schlager to piano and choral music to rock'n'roll. The groups were Klangspiel (Caritas Werkstätte Alois Eckert Lauda-Gerlachsheim), Kocher-Rocker (Geschwister-Scholl-Schule Künzelsau), the Pianoproject of the Andreas-Fröhlich-Schule in Krautheim, The Braillers (Blindeninstitut Würzburg), Happytones (Lebenshilfe der Ortsvereinigung Buchen und Umgebung e.V.) and the Anne-Sophie-Chor of the Hotel-Restaurants Anne-Sophie.
The Russian violinist Ksenia Dubrovskaya set the final chord for the festival. Afterwards the finissage of the exhibition "All sorts of discoveries - insights into the Carmen Würth collection" took place in the Würth Museum.
