Würth Logistics Center in Landquart, Switzerland, receives climate protection certificate

Summary

The expansion building of the Würth logistics center is operated with CO2-neutral district heating. For this environmentally friendly procedure, Würth International AG received the climate protection certificate by VBSA/GEVAG.

When the new building was put into operation in May 2017, district heating became the heating supply of choice for the second expansion of the Würth logistics center in Landquart. “When evaluating different options for heating our building, we also attached great importance to environmental and sustainability aspects. It soon became clear to us that we would decide to rely on district heating,” explained Erich Heinz, Managing Director of Lagerhaus Landquart AG, which operates the logistics center for Würth.

Decisive factors were ecological aspects on the one hand (low emissions in general, reduction of CO2 emission, use of regional, renewable energies) and economic aspects on the other hand (fair, long-term prices, no maintenance costs, little space required, practically no maintenance required).

Würth International AG is the second company having received the VBSA/GEVAG certificate. “We are committed to active protection of the environment. Therefore, we are very happy to present this certificate to Würth. We know Würth to be an innovative and future-oriented company—also in terms of efficient use of energy and sustainable thinking,” François Boone, Managing Director of GEVAG said.
