Commitment to handball
After a successful start with the 2024 Men’s EHF EURO 2024 in Germany, Würth is consistently continuing its commitment. The agreement now concluded will significantly expand our presence at four European handball championships: the men’s and women’s tournaments in both 2026 and 2028.

“Handball stands for passion, team spirit and proximity. These values perfectly match our ambition at Würth to do our very best. After the strong impressions of the European championship in 2024, it was clear to us that we will continue this partnership in the long term and remain committed to handball. And also to the people who are involved in this sport with such enthusiasm,” says Fritz Hollweck, Head of Sports Sponsorship at Würth.

Millions of viewers
The EHF EURO is one of the largest sport events in Europe. Millions of viewers attend the games in the arenas or watch live broadcasts. For partners like Würth, the tournament offers a platform with a high reach and great emotional appeal. In addition to traditional visibility, Würth also turns to fan and customer campaigns in the host countries to make the Würth brand come alive.

“We are very pleased that the still young partnership with Würth will be extended until 2028 and that this extension will include the men’s EHF EURO and the two upcoming women’s European championships. This is another proof of the appeal of the tournament and the numerous opportunities we can offer to internationally operating companies such as Würth to reach and activate new and existing target groups,” says Martin Hausleitner, EHF Secretary General.

Sports sponsoring at Würth
The involvement in handball is part of Würth’s comprehensive sports sponsorship strategy, which is based on visibility at major international events. Apart from competitions in winter sports, Würth is visible as official tool supplier of MotoGP and had the “Würth 400” in the NASCAR Cup series in the USA named after it. Würth also shows a strong presence in football, among others as a partner of the German Football Association, the Italian Football Federation and the referees in Spain.
